From Comments to Connections: How to Engage Medical Device Leaders on LinkedIn Without Being Cringe

Commenting and connecting with medical device leaders on LinkedIn—scripts that build relationships without spammy outreach.

Published August 22, 20267 min read

“Great post!” comments do nothing. Thoughtful engagement—one specific insight, one question, one shared experience—gets noticed. Medical device leaders are approachable when you respect their time and lead with substance.

Commenting that works

  • Add a specific takeaway from your experience or training
  • Ask one intelligent question—not a disguised sales pitch
  • Avoid arguing politics or company bashing in public threads
  • Keep comments under 3 sentences when possible

Connection request scripts

  • “Hi [Name], I am breaking into spine device sales in [city] and appreciated your point on [topic]. Would value connecting.”
  • “Fellow [alumni/athlete/clinical] moving into device—your post on [topic] resonated. Thanks for sharing.”

After they accept

Do not immediately pitch for a job. Share one relevant article or ask one informational question. Build before you ask. Managers remember candidates who engaged like professionals—not leeches.

Engagement is networking in public. Be specific, be brief, be patient.
