  • What does success look like in the first 90 days?
  • What attracted you to OR-based roles (or away from them)?
  • What do you expect to be difficult—and how will you handle it?

OR scenario questions

  • A case is moved up unexpectedly—what do you do first?
  • A surgeon is frustrated—how do you respond and recover trust?
  • A critical instrument is missing—how do you handle it?
  • A competitor rep is in the room—how do you stay effective?
  • A product issue occurs mid-case—how do you communicate and support?

Coachability questions

  • Tell me about feedback you didn’t agree with at first.
  • Describe a mistake you made and what changed after.
  • How do you learn new systems or complex workflows?
  • How do you prefer to be coached when performance is below target?

Closing questions

  • What questions do you have about the role expectations?
  • What would make you decline this role if offered?
