Job Description
The Vice President of Hospital Sales is responsible for leading the national strategy, execution, and growth of next-generation sequencing (NGS)-based infectious disease diagnostic solutions across hospital systems, academic medical centers, integrated delivery networks (IDNs), and large health systems.
This executive leader will build, develop, and scale a high-performing hospital sales organization while partnering cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Clinical Implementation, Laboratory Operations, Market Access, and Marketing to position NGS testing as a standard-of-care diagnostic solution for complex infectious disease management.
The VP will drive enterprise-level sales initiatives, cultivate executive relationships, and ensure sustained adoption, utilization growth, and long-term partnership development across key accounts.
Executive Leadership & Team Development
• Build, lead, and scale a high-performing national hospital sales organization.
• Recruit, coach, and develop Regional Directors and Hospital Account Executives.
• Establish clear revenue targets, KPIs, and accountability structures.
• Drive a performance-oriented culture focused on execution, customer impact, and collaboration.
• Provide executive oversight of field coaching, leadership development, and succession planning.
Strategic Hospital Market Growth
• Develop and execute national and regional go-to-market strategies to accelerate adoption of NGS infectious disease testing.
• Identify and prioritize high-value health systems, IDNs, and academic institutions.
• Lead expansion within existing enterprise accounts while securing new strategic partnerships.
• Evaluate market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging diagnostic opportunities.
Hospital Implementation & Utilization Growth
• Provide executive oversight of implementation strategy and customer onboarding.
• Partner with internal teams to ensure seamless integration into clinical workflows.
• Remove barriers related to operations, compliance, reimbursement, and utilization.
• Ensure long-term account success through sustained test adoption and growth.
Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience in healthcare diagnostics, molecular diagnostics, laboratory services, or medical device sales.
• 5+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, including managing leaders.
• Proven success selling into hospitals, IDNs, and health systems at the enterprise level.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex, consultative sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of hospital structures, procurement processes, and clinical decision-making.
• Ability to travel 50–70%.
Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- • 10+ years of experience in healthcare diagnostics, molecular diagnostics, laboratory services, or medical device sales.
- • Proven success selling into hospitals, IDNs, and health systems at the enterprise level.
- • 5+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, including managing leaders.
